What is eAadhaar?

eAadhaar is the electronic version of your Aadhaar card, issued and digitally signed by UIDAI. It is a password-protected PDF file and is legally valid under the Aadhaar Act, 2016.

Types of eAadhaar You Can Download

1. Regular Aadhaar

Displays the full 12-digit Aadhaar number.

2. Masked Aadhaar

Shows only the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number and is recommended for privacy.

Both formats are equally valid.


eAadhaar Password Format

To open the downloaded eAadhaar PDF:

Password = First 4 letters of your name (UPPERCASE) + Birth Year (YYYY)

Examples:

  • Sameer (1988) → SAME1988

  • Sai (1989) → SAI1989


Requirements to Download Aadhaar Online

Steps to Download eAadhaar from UIDAI

  1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

  2. Click on Download Aadhaar

  3. Enter Aadhaar number / EID / VID

  4. Enter captcha and click Send OTP

  5. Choose Regular Aadhaar or Masked Aadhaar
